My weekend seemed to have completely fallen apart on Friday. I had made plans to travel and visit an old friend, but it wasn't to be.
So I, quite enthusiastically, resigned myself to hanging out at home all weekend and catching up on a long list of chores and projects. It turned out to be a lovely weekend and I got a lot done.
And if I hadn't spent the weekend at home, I might have missed the lovely hyacinths, harbingers of rebirth, blooming spectacularly and signaling the imminent arrival of Spring.
